“CES Rage Meets Bieber Mania”

Titans of Technology, Geek Squads, Notebook Junkies, and Cell Phone Certifiables swarmed to Las Vegas earlier this month for the show of all tradeshows – CES. All 4 Halls blew minds each day. Impressive were Samsung’s 150” tack sharp LCD’s, Sony’s & LG’s 3-D Video Walls, and the Microsoft Booth which was trademark blue/purple showcasing products you need 3 PHD’s in engineering to comprehend.

Not so predictable highlights included a 100 foot wide Day Glow Green & Yellow Mushroom with Monarch Butterflies flying beneath it at a Korean technology company’s booth, 50 Cent and Ludacris w/ crews pitching new headphones with pounding base, and Justin Bieber signing autographs at a Vietnamese Robotics Booth. Bieber caused a strange panic amongst the many attendees.

Through it all, The Displayit Built GoPro Booth was a solid success at CES. Thousands of attendees from around the globe walked through the booth, checked out GoPro’s new HD 2 Cameras, and viewed the insane footage that is captured by GoPro cameras every day. Next up for GoPro- SIA & ISPO!

This month we shine the spotlight on Sergio Valerio

Displayit’s shop is made up of dozens of valuable team members who have completed build jobs done on time and with exceptional quality in 2011. Lun Thang and Jose Isaac Vaquez aka “Chiquito” have both recently received Employee of the Month Awards for strong efforts. The Shop Spotlight is another way to express our appreciation for jobs well done.

This month we shine the spotlight on Sergio Valerio:

Q: Sergio, how long have you been working for Displayit and what does it mean to you to be a part of such a great build & install team?

A: “I have been with Displayit for 4 years now. It means a lot to me to work here. We have a great team in the shop. We are always improving our work techniques and I love to go out on the installs. Every day is new and seeing new places for work is great.”

Q: Where have you been working lately?

A: “It has been busy lately. I was in New York for the Quik Pro on Long Island. Then we did a bunch of work at Jacks Dana Point. Nixon work in NorCal as well as this last PEAK job at Culver City.”

Q: Sounds good. Also, we must ask, how do you feel about people at Displayit comparing you to The Most Interesting Man in the World?

A: “Ha ha, I am younger and better looking than that guy, but if they pay me and give me some TV Time, then I will accept the part!”

The RIGHT way to do a holiday party – look & learn!

Displayit’s holiday party was yet another standout event in our company’s history book.  Team United took the Gold Metal after several grueling rounds of cut-throat dodge ball.  Sky High Sports provided the arena & Displayit, of course, brought the fun!!

Afterward, our group of 80+ dined at Maggiano’s and stole holiday gifts from one another in a 4 hour never ending game of white elephant.  Recognized winners included those who got to pick from, “la mesa”, and the brave two awarded a cash prize for pegging both Mike & Rob square in the face during the tournament.  What would a holiday party be without the bosses injured and bleeding?

Thanks ALL for a great 2011!

You are cordially invited…

…Nov.7-12, 2011 South Coast Plaza, Chanel Boutique. A Private Styling Event.

Late October was spent preparing a few fine event items, for the Chanel boutique at South Coast Plaza Mall.

The opportunity for Displayit’s Krystle McAllister, to work with the legendary brand as the account lead, was in itself a joy that could not be measured. “Just the prospect of being able to work such a huge powerhouse of a brand, made me giddy with excitement…I mean, It’s CHANEL!”

Chanel brought their event designs from Paris to Displayit Inc, with the hopes of being able to use a local vendor for the West Coast event.  With its classic look and feel, Displayit was able to execute the Chanel designs flawlessly. Eight foot tall partitions done in the classic pure white with black border enabled the event to be separate from the daily retail within the boutique space. Matte black metal garment racks were fabricated in shop, and the famed “double CC”, gold plated and polished logos were applied. Simple white cubes to serve as writing tables were finished smooth and set in the space.  We fabricated most of the items and coordinated other event collateral to be rented, in order to make the event as beautiful as expected.  Equipped with an overnight install team, setup was done right on time for the opening of the event.

The event was open to some of the boutique’s most exclusive shoppers. They had a fashion styling team from Paris in attendance, ready to show their customers how to wear their vintage Chanel pieces with their newer pieces.

The event was a hit, and the event items will be used over and over again a various west coast events for the brand.
